Richard 1st December 2020

Thoughts, because we don't have any pictures (we are sure John would forgive us!?). A very sad time in a very sad year. Our memories are of a gentleman and a gentle man. A ready smile and a ready pair of Usain Bolt's trainers on his feet in order to dash off to replenish any bottles of Keo beer that were looking nearly empty. One of life's givers, whether at Akrotiri Primary School for 3 decades and more but even more so when out of the school gates. It is due to him (and Lofty the dog) that we were able to spend a total of more than 3 months of holidays in Cyprus - free accommodation, use of a vehicle: cost? simply entertain Lofty. Easy for us (why wouldn't you?) and always the impression given that we were the ones doing a favour. A top man with a wonderful family. It's been a privilege to share a small part of all their lives. The world is a much sadder place for his absence from it , but it is a much happier and better place from his presence in it. Descanso en Paz Lots of love Richard, Gillian and Liam xxx
